Geosynthetic Liners for Landfill Sites

In mining areas, the content of waste material extracted from the site and the proper storage of this waste are important. Waterproof barriers are constructed at the base and slopes of storage areas according to the content of the waste. In conventional methods, the base is covered with clay soil; however, the same application cannot ensure waterproofing on the slopes. With technological advances, the performance values of geosynthetic materials have been improved, enabling the construction of impermeable barriers suitable for the composition of the waste.
