Geosynthetics in Recycling Facilities

Sanitary landfills, hazardous waste facilities, leachate ponds and sludge lagoons are demanding environments where aggressive leachate chemistry, heavy waste loads and decades-long service conditions all come together. These sites must safely contain the stored waste while protecting groundwater and soil from contamination for many years to come.

Geomas geosynthetic solutions combine geomembranes and geosynthetic clay liners to form a continuous sealing barrier across the site base and side slopes. Groundwater and soil are shielded from leachate and waste-borne contaminants, while the facility meets the impermeability criteria required by environmental regulations.

Drainage geocomposites collect and safely convey leachate under controlled conditions, while protective geotextiles guard the geomembrane against punctures from waste and cover material, preserving the integrity of the system for years. Double-liner and leak-detection layers make it possible to identify potential leaks at an early stage.

Every site is different in terms of waste class, volume and climate. That is why we select products based on the project's geotechnical and waste data rather than a standard catalog. At the closure and rehabilitation stage, we also deliver long-term solutions with final cover systems. The result: a safer, fully compliant and more efficient waste management operation.
