Mining Waste Storage Facility
In mining areas, the content of waste material extracted from the site and the proper storage of this waste are important. Waterproof barriers are constructed at the base and slopes of storage areas according to the content of the waste. In conventional methods, the base is covered with clay soil; however, the same application cannot ensure waterproofing on the slopes. With technological advances, the performance values of geosynthetic materials have been improved, enabling the construction of impermeable barriers suitable for the composition of the waste.
- Geosynthetic clay liners reduce the use of clay material while also achieving higher impermeability values.
- An impermeable barrier consisting of GCL+Geomembrane+Geotextile provides an impenetrable seal both at the base and on the slopes.
- With drainage composites, the requirement to create a granular layer for discharging liquid from waste is eliminated, and a clog-free drainage line can be provided.
