Bentoshield

Bentoshield
BentoShield's leak-proof technology effectively combines the unique swelling performance of sodium bentonite granules or bentonite powder with two high-strength geotextiles. When BentoShield is moistened, it creates an impermeable barrier against liquids, water vapor, and gases.
Functions
Once hydrated, BentoShield swells to form an effective hydraulic barrier that is impermeable to liquids, water vapor, and gases. With a thickness of less than one centimeter, it offers better hydraulic performance than compressed clay used in storage areas, which is several meters thick.

Geosynthetic Clay Liners can be used in many application areas, from landfill sites to ponds, from water channels to mining sites. In line with this diversity, we guarantee the most effective and economical solution with our ‘Geomas Geosynthetic Clay Liners’, which we can produce in a wide range tailored to your specific needs.
Features
- Self-healing capability
- Provides effective protection under high pressures.
- One truckload of BentoShield can cover the area covered by 150 truckloads of clay.
- With a thickness of less than 1 centimeter, BentoShield provides a significant amount of additional volume in a standard storage area, equivalent to 1 meter of compressed clay.
- BentoShield provides impermeability at a value of 5x10⁻¹¹ m/sec, demonstrating superior leak-proof performance compared to a 1-meter-thick clay layer.
- The Bentoshield application does not require any sources or stitches; you can simply apply it by overlapping the connection points.
- In highway projects, it is used in the base layer of road fill, combining impermeability, reinforcement, and separation functions to extend the life of the road structure.
- In railway projects, it is used under the foundation to prevent water rising by capillary action from reaching the ballast material, thereby extending the structure's lifespan and contributing to the creation of a safe structure.
- It provides unique insulation by utilizing its leak-proof properties in reservoir and dam projects.
