Surface erosion on channel slopes can be prevented using geomat materials.
The movement of water within riverbeds, periodic floods, and seasonal changes in water levels cause erosion of canal slopes and consequently lead to soil loss. Due to this erosion on canal slopes caused by the movement of water, slope stability problems arise over time, and the course of riverbeds gradually changes. This problem, which has been addressed with concrete linings since the past, cannot be permanently solved due to the service life of rigid structures, but it can be made permanent with geosynthetic channel lining elements.

Products
SandMax DCM is a three-layer geocomposite material developed to protect slopes or constructed structures in challenging field conditions. It contains enriched quartz sand and is combined with nonwoven geotextiles.
