BS water stop

BS water stop
With advancing technology, different product groups have come to the fore in the field of building materials, minimizing technical or application errors encountered in alternatives. Particularly in the field of insulation, the wide range of products, the proliferation of products made from raw materials in different materials, and the ease of application compared to the past ensure positive results in the applications. However, applying the right product in the right areas in the right way is still a challenge. Water-resistant tapes, also known as water stops, provide ease of application in areas where insulation is difficult, such as joints.
Functions
Water-retaining tapes are bentonite-based insulation tapes that swell when in contact with water, filling all cracks, voids, and pores in concrete; they ensure the waterproofing of reinforced concrete joints (cold joints). The most prominent areas of application are: * Joints in precast concrete elements * Underground structure joints * Joints in concrete elements * Vertical structure joints * Joints in pipes passing through reinforced concrete * Concrete-steel joints * Reinforced concrete structures exposed to high-pressure water

To ensure complete insulation, the selected materials must be able to provide full insulation in different areas of the structure. In some conventional systems, the desired insulation cannot be fully achieved, especially in the detailed areas of the structure (joints, void areas, elevator details, architectural recess details). Failure to properly insulate architectural details jeopardizes the entire insulation. By insulating these details with water stop tapes (Water Stop BS), it is possible to easily include these areas in the insulation. Criteria to be considered in applications: * Avoid application under adverse weather conditions. * When applied around pipe inlets and outlets, the water stop tape must be covered with an epoxy-based product.
Features
- The product begins to expand when it comes into contact with water.
- When correctly placed in the application detail, it does not cause any sagging or deformation.
- It has a flexible structure and expands at a % ratio.
- Resistant to chemical reactions and impacts
- It is an easy-to-apply material; it can be easily applied with nails or mastic.
- Resistant to high temperature changes
