Batman State Hospital

During the construction of Batman State Hospital, a temporary pile system was implemented to protect the existing roads surrounding the hospital. As the continuity of this system will be completed within a short period of time, it has become necessary to support the road and pile systems.
To ensure the safe completion of the project, a geosynthetic-reinforced retaining wall system was chosen, with wall heights varying between 3 meters and 12 meters. Geosynthetic-reinforced wall systems are named according to the facing material used on their front surface. In our project, a greenable retaining wall was constructed using steel mesh and Geotex soil retention material. Geogrid products manufactured by Low&Bonar with a tensile strength of 100/30 kN/m were chosen as reinforcement for the wall system, while TechTex DC 12 Nonwoven Geotextile was used in the drainage lines created on the rear surface of the wall to prevent clogging of the drainage gravel.
The completed Green Retaining Wall smoothly carries the highway and pile systems around the hospital.
